Are Zoos listening?
Are we Indians great at marketing (read IPL/SRK's KKR)?
Yesterday, my daughter and I visited the Bannerghatta national park in Bangalore.
I've spent a few years in Singapore and the zoo is amazing there. Ours cannot be compared to it.
So what does marketing have anything to do the zoo? Well, apart from the fact that Singapore knows how to maintain its zoo, it also knows how to promote the zoo. Its merchandise I am talking about! (KKR broke-even in the first year of IPL through merchandise sales alone, if I am not mistaken!)
Let's bring my daughter into the picture: she loves animals and birds as do kids her age. So what do they love after a visit to the zoo/national park? (food's the answer but that goes for adults too) But the right answer for now is: animal toys!
So how about selling some toys at the zoo in India or some t-shirts with animal prints on them?!
And we'll try to sell the toys online ;)
