DICE+: A Digital Board Game Cube
Remember the old board games? Yes, I used “old” because no one uses them today, though they are still fun to play with. In today’s technology enabled world, every child wants a tech savvy toy. Still, it’s true that Board games are a good way of getting a family together to play. People at GIC, are making digital version of the age-old dice called DICE+. This Dice can work with any traditional or even a board game on an I-Pad.
Patrick Strzelewicz and Michael Bak are the inventors of the digital DICE+. They came together with Platige Image and FSG to form a new company named GIC. This gaming startup plans to capture the electronic market with its upcoming product. The launch dates are not yet out. However they are still looking out for software and hardware associates that can help them launch this product. GIC states that the estimate cost of DICE+ would be around $30 when it starts shipping.
How is DICE+ unique? DICE+ is designed to be compatible with android, iOS, Windows, Lumix and Symbian. Unlike a regular die, it features LED backlight and Bluetooth connectivity. It also has an anti-cheating detect algorithm. Wow, anti cheating sounds like fun. Your family can have upto 20 hrs of uninterrupted play with DICE+. This play model features a micro-USB charging slot.
There are over 4,000 digital board games which had a missing element. Seems like these games have found their element!
