"Harlem Shake" vs "Gangnam Style"
Heard about the new craze on YouTube? It’s the “Harlem Shake”. According to YouTube trend reports Harlem Shake has gone so viral that in the first 2 weeks of February 2013 there have been over 12,000 Harlem Shake videos uploaded. Not just uploaded, they have been collectively viewed more than 44 million times.
What exactly is this Harlem Shake craze all about?
Harlem Shake has its roots in the Ethopian dance "Eskista". The video starts with one person usually masked dancing on the track while others in the surrounding seem to ignore him. Once the beat drops the entire bunch starts wiggling around randomly. At its heart, Harlem Shake is about being simple and having silly-fun.
The question now is that - Will “Harlem Shake” beat the records set by “Gangnam Style” on YouTube? or is the viral potential of “Harlem Shake” not strong enough to beat “Gangnam Style”?
Besides the regular 30 second Harlem Shake videos on YouTube, we came across this awesome Harlem Shake Parody. Toy Tasting used their toy collection to make this fun video. They got their toys together, taught them the basics and set them loose to do “The Harlem Shake!”
