Being a craft freak I like to try almost anything crafty I see on the web. I saw this corner bookmark on Pinterest and decided to give it a try. This is a fun and easy bookmark to make with kids. Kids would absolutely love this!

Here's how to make a corner bookmark:

Step 1: Select a colored sheet, you wish to make the bookmark from. Draw a template like this. Each square is 10cm long.

Step 2: After drawing the template, cut out the shaded triangles. This will give you a paper cut-out, like the one below.

Step 3: Fold the 2 small triangles with the guide of the lines. Paste them one over the other to make a pocket. You are done! A corner bookmark is ready.

Step 4: I have a theory that the more attractive my bookmark the more excited I am to read a book. Well, if you agree, help your kids decorate the bookmark with glitter, sketch pen or other colored sheets. Let the imagination run wild and decorate these bookmarks in any way you like.

That's it! Make a few of these and gift them to friends or relatives who love reading.

  • Hi Raksha, this was a really helpful post. I wasn't aware of the concept of a corner bookmark. I always thought the rectangular pieces were the only form of bookmarks. Incidentally am reading a book about children, so this blog post was really timely. I've made myself a corner bookmark!
