Types of Mommies- 1

“My mother seems to have taken over the CBI. She acts skeptical all the time. She’s been constantly interrogating me.”

The result of eavesdropping on a conversation in the train gave my chain of thoughts a direction and I started wondering... Do my kids label me? Do they have group discussions on their mothers and tag them? Well, it did make me narrow down on a few types.

The ‘I – Spy’ Mama

She’ll surprise you with the number of details she keeps about her children. Yes, she’ll also take her children down, if they don’t account for the hour they spent under the pretext of shopping at the grocery store. Well, if you’re the kid there is nothing on the planet that’ll escape her eye.

Note: If you identify with this type, I hope you’re taking notes.

‘Humor-me-much’ Mama

These mothers are overtly funny. They make the awkward times overtly awkward. All thanks to their comic timing. If your kid is an adolescent or is nearing this phase, make sure you check and recheck with those rib ticklers! Adolescents are more prone to hit a shell if they suspect covert humor.

Note: Humor mamas are fun but over-doing will lead to a downfall.

‘Stud’ Mama

This mommy will buckle up her child. She’ll make them go leaps and bounds, set targets and make them run up and down for it. She takes the hard way to get things done. She takes immense pains to discipline and the stakes are high when she bets.

Note: Stud Mamas don’t forget to take a chill-pill at times.

'Drama' Mama

Well, she heightens the effect ten times the original. Be it a terrifying situation or a soothing one. She loves drama, she cries at the drop of a hat. She wants her life to be picturesque. She may expect her significant others to be the ideal role models from the reel world.

Note: Drama Mamas, it’s good to give yourselves a reality check at times.

Some more types of mommies would continue in our next post.

  • Well there's no denying that this post bought a smile to my face. But when you think of it, it's not easy being a mother. I mean think of all the pulls and pressures constantly tugging at you. Everyone in the family turns to you when anything goes wrong. But when things are fine - hey, it appears to happen itself.
We mothers - MUST - monitor our children. It's for their own good. The media pressures are not just directly influencing them - via, say, TV at home. But also through what their friends bring onto the table during play

Ha, ha ... can't stop laughing. I hate to admit it ... but I can place so many of my friends in these buckets. I'd like to think of myself as Stud Mama!
